The Kotzschmar Organ presents the silent film "The Battleship Potemkin" (1925) with improvisations on the Kotzschmar organ by James Kennerley.
The Russian battleship Potemkin was a predreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet. She became famous when the crew rebelled against the officers in June 1905 which is now viewed as a first step toward the Russian Revolution of 1917. This mutiny later formed the basis of this film by Sergei Eisenstein.
The evening starts with a family concert from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. with a special ticket price of $10 requested donation. It includes the showing of child-friendly Halloween silent cartoons, Kennerley performing on the organ and a children’s costume parade with prizes.

CHILDREN 12 & under are free but require a ticket to attend.
